Looking for a quiet space to study during finals?
AU Library has designated the 3rd and 4th floors as quiet spaces during extended hours and finals week, December 6th - December 15th. Comfortable open study areas are available to students on both floors.
Interested in reserving a study room?
Stop at the circulation desk and reserve a study room on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor for a maximum of three hours. Please note, students using a reserved study room will be asked to vacate the room.
Already have a favorite spot?
Create your own quiet space using the free (disposable) ear plugs available at the library circulation desk on the main floor and the IRC print station on the second floor.

OhioLINK: Request Materials
Have you found something in the AU Library catalog only to learn it is checked out to someone else? Do you need a particular edition of a book we do not yet have? Is there a DVD you would like to view that is on reserve and cannot leave the library? Check OhioLINK availability via the library catalog! The item you want may be available at another library and it can be delivered here, or to any other participating OhioLINK library location, for free.
AU Librarian's will be able to help you locate and request OhioLINK items. Our friendly circulation staff will guide you through the check-out process when your item arrives, provide information about due dates, and can help with renewals. Ask for help at the main desk, we'll take it from there.

If you are experiencing problems using ProQuest's Safari E-Books, please note the following message from OhioLINK.
If you are unable to view the resource, try again a few minutes later. If you need help with this issue, please contact a reference librarian at ext 5402 or via library@ashland.edu.

OhioLINK Maintenance Downtime 6/12-6/13
All OhioLINK hosted services will be down during the following window, as OhioLINK servers are moved to a new data center: Friday, June 12, 6pm – Saturday, June 13, 12pm (noon). This will affect all of the OhioLINK website as well as the OhioLINK Catalog. Most library databases will remain accessible from the AU Library webpages, but links from search results to articles in the Electronic Journal Center will not work. Library Closed because of Power Outage 5/30-6/3
The Library will be closed from Friday evening, May 29th, through Wednesday, June 3rd, as an electrical system is upgraded. The power outage Friday evening will interfere with access to databases and the ability to request or renew OhioLINK items, but those services are expected to be restored by Saturday, May 30th. If you encounter online access problems after Friday night, please let us know by sending an e-mail to library@ashland.edu

Study Rooms & Quiet Space
Looking for a quiet space to study during finals?
AU Library has designated the 3rd and 4th floors as quiet spaces during extended hours and finals week, April 26th - May 5th. Comfortable open study areas are available to students on both floors.
Interested in reserving a study room?
Stop at the circulation desk and reserve a study room on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor for a maximum of three hours. Please note, students using a reserved study room will be asked to vacate the room.
Already have a favorite spot?
Create your own quiet space using the free (disposable) ear plugs available at the library circulation desk on the main floor and the IRC print station on the second floor.

EBSCO Databases and Interlibrary Loan
Access problems to EBSCO databases have been resolved, BUT interlibrary loan requests that were generated in EBSCO databases between Friday the 17th and Monday the 20th did not get transmitted to our interlibrary loan account, and we have no way to discover them.
If you placed an interlibrary loan request between 1:45 p.m. Friday and 3:45 p.m. Monday, please resubmit it. You can do so either either by placing a new request or by forwarding to ill@ashland.edu the confirmation message you may have received. Thank you!

Aceess to EBSCO databases is currently intermittent. You may encounter a "system problem" message or other problem. It appears, however, that a bit of extra patience will typically be rewarded with results.

When shelf ready, titles are featured in the new books area on library main floor, near the computers and recreational reading. AU Library's circulation system (server) is currently down. The library catalog is not available, OL requests will not be processed through our system, and it is not possible to view your record and renew items.
It is possible to pick up OL requests, course reserves, and check out general items. For help with renewals and circulation, please call the main desk at ext 5400.

OhioLINK Requesting Restored
The problem that was blocking OhioLINK requests and renewals has been resolved. If you have any further problem requesting or renewing an OhioLINK item please call the Library at 419-289-5400 when it reopens Monday.
Unfortunately, SearchOhio items apparently still cannot be requested or renewed. We hope to see this resolved Monday or Tuesday.

OhioLINK is currently unable to connect to our library system, making it impossible for our users to place OhioLINK requests or renew items. We will post an update here as soon as we learn that the problem has been resolved.

WorldCat will be unavailable as it undergoes extensive maintenance on Saturday, January 3rd. OCLC hopes to restore WorldCat service by 3:00 p.m. that day.
