Reference Help • We're still here!

Our main floor reference desk is gone, but librarians are still available to help.  You can stop in at the circulation desk and ask for the librarian on duty, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  You can also:

• Ask a Librarian Chat: 
  Use the library's chat widget for online help.  Chat is available on the main library website, the A to Z database page, and on many of our library guides.
• Archer Library Email: 
  Take time to email a librarian at library@ashland.edu.
• Call the Reference Desk: 
  We are still able to help via phone at 419-289-5402.
• Schedule an Appointment: 
  Use our online form to schedule an appointment.

It's not too late for help with that final paper or research project. Complete the online help form to schedule in-person, Zoom, or email consultations. We can help you: 

• Craft and manage effective search strategies, 
• Locate articles in library databases, 
• Use OhioLINK and Interlibrary loan, and 
• So much more. 

Archer Library's librarians can provide extensive help at the reference desk and answer simple inquiries via chat.  If you want to be sure that there will be enough time to fully explore your research question, please schedule a research appointment.

Library Help: Interlibrary Loan

Need help? 

Interlibrary loan is a free service used by students for getting:

• books unavailable through OhioLINK or SearchOhio,
• articles not available through AU Library's databases
• articles not available in AU Library's periodicals collection.

Requesting ILL items?

Article Request Form
Articles requested using interlibrary loan are sent to your AU email account.

Book Request Form
Books requested through interlibrary loan are delivered to the main campus Library's Circulation Desk. An email will be sent notifying you when items have arrived and are ready for pick up.

Wondering about your OhioLINK request?

AU Library's circulation staff manage the information desk on the main floor. If you have questions about items checked-out, course reserves, or OhioLINK, the our circulation staff can help.  They can also help you reserve a study room, locate open computers and work areas in the library, and trouble-shoot print station issues (printing, scanning, and copying). Help is available in-person and online during scheduled library hours.
