Archer Library • LSTA 2026 COBAA Grant

Archer Library has been awarded a 2026 LSTA Celebrating Ohio Book Awards & Authors (COBAA) Collection Development Grant, supporting the purchase of award-winning Ohio-authored and Ohio-themed titles to strengthen the library’s general collection.

The new materials will directly support high-enrollment foundational courses, including Communication (COM 101), English Composition (ENG 101 and ENG 102) and Education courses, benefiting first-year students while also enriching resources available to the broader university community. The project emphasizes high-quality, award-recognized literature that aligns with the Library’s mission to support teaching, learning and student engagement across disciplines.

The grant project will be coordinated by Patricia Frank, Library Director, in collaboration with Archer Library faculty and staff.

"The COBAA grant enables libraries to purchase books by Ohio authors as well as books recognized by Ohio-based book award programs. Since 2016, the COBAA grant initiative has provided funds to help libraries expand collections and support literacy by connecting Ohio readers to Ohio authors and Ohio book award winners" (LSTA, COBAA Grant).
