WorldCat Scheduled Downtime
"On Sunday, February 27 there will be a scheduled service downtime for a number of OCLC services from 1:00 am until at least 6:00 am and, at most, 11:00 am (U.S. Eastern Time). We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. [OCLC] need[s] to take the following services off-line in order to upgrade the storage systems and capacity for all OCLC services." Among the services affected will be the WorldCat database.

Library Spotlight: Digital Sign
New to the library, a campus digital sign! Located on the library main floor near the circulation desk exit, this sign will feature digital information snapshots specific to the library and offices, such as Global Education and the Numismatics Center, located in the library. Part of the campus digital sign network, the library sign will highlight campus events and library specific content.

Databases: FDsys replaces GPO Access
America's Authentic Government Information, FDsys - Federal Digital System, has been added to the library's list of database resources. Replacing GPO Access, the Government Printing Office, FDsys "provides free online access to official Federal Government publications. Through FDsys, you are able to Search for documents and publications, browse for documents and publication actions (Congressional committee, and date), access meta data about documents and publications, and download documents and publications in multiple formats."

In observance of AU's scheduled Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday break, library hours are as follows:
- Friday, January14th - Close 5:00 pm
- Saturday, January 15th - Closed
- Sunday, January 16th - Closed
- Monday, January 17th - Open 6 pm to Midnight

Update: OhioLINK Database Acess
It is no longer necessary for on campus users to authenticate prior to using any OhioLINK database on the Library Database by Title page or the OhioLINK web site. Please feel free to contact the library should these on campus authentication issues persist.
Any off campus use of database resources contines to require authentication prior to use.

Having trouble renewing or viewing your account online? The My Account link from the library home page is returning a security certificate warning. However, it is still possible to view your account information.
When the Certificate Error Page appears, choose "Continue to this Website (not recommended)" and you be forwarded to the My Account Page.

If you need help navigating to My Account, reference librarians are available on chat (see the chat window in our blog sidebar) for assistance. As always, feel free to contact library circulation at x5400 and/or stop in the library to check on your account.

Update: Library Hours
This week concludes the library winter holiday schedule, the library will close today at 5:00 pm. Our weekend hours are as follows:
- Saturday, January 8th: Closed
- Sunday, January 9th: Closed
Update: OhioLINK Database Access
OhioLINK and Ashland University's IT department have evaluated the recent IP / authentication issue and are working to fix the problem. We anticipate resolution of this technology issue early next week and apologize for the disruption of services. When fixed, on campus users will no longer need to authenticate for OhioLINK database usage.
