Library Closing

The Library closed early this afternoon because of a power outage across Ashland.  Database access has been restored, and we expect to be open as scheduled tomorrow, Saturday, May 23rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WorldCat Down July 10th

WorldCat and other OCLC FirstSearch databases will be down Sunday, July 10th, from 1:00 a.m. until at least 6:00 a.m. and perhaps as late as 11:00 a.m.

Database Access Restored

Off-campus access from the AU Library web pages to the research databases has been restored.  You may need to clear the cache of your browser and restart your computer.  If you have any continuing access problems, write to us at library@ashland.edu or call 419-289-5402.

OhioLINK Catalog Reminder

From the OhioLINK Facebook page, a quick reminder about catalog access July 7th.

Just a reminder: the OhioLINK Central Catalog will be down for several hours starting at noon TOMORROW (7/7)for server migration. If you've got book requests on your to-do list, this might be the best time to do it!

Maintenance Alert: OhioLINK Library Catalog Unavailable Thursday, July 7

The OhioLINK Central Catalog will be unavailable while planned maintenance is performed beginning at noon on Thursday, July 7. We expect the migration to a new server will be completed by the evening of the 7th. During this time you will not be able to search the central catalog or request items. Local library catalogs will remain available for searching.

OhioLINK Catalog Down July 7th

The OhioLINK Catalog will be migrated to a new server on Thursday, July 7th.  It will be inaccessible from about noon through the afternoon and perhaps into the evening.  While the catalog is down it will not be possible to request OhioLINK books or to renew them through your AU Library account.  (For Ashland University users this may have little significance, as we currently cannot place OhioLINK requests because of a separate problem.)

Access to research databases should be unaffected by the OhioLINK Catalog migration.

Continued Access Problems

Although access to the AU Library Catalog has been restored and research databases are accessible on campus, off-campus access to databases remains a problem.  Most users, however, can get to our OhioLINK databases via the OhioLINK website.

A second continuing problem is that it appears to be impossible to place OhioLINK book requests or to renew OhioLINK books.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that these problems can be resolved before Tuesday, when the Library reopens.  If you need assistance or have questions, please write to us at library@ashland.edu
