OhioLINK Servers Back Up

OhioLINK reports that the servers that had been down are now up and all databases should be accessible.  Students who are unable to get to an OhioLINK database should clear the cache of their browser.  If the problem continues, see the Security Updates message below.

Security Updates & OhioLINK

"Some patrons have been reporting problems with connecting to the OhioLINK website from off-campus or remotely. This may be related to some recent security updates we have made to our authentication service to patch security holes that were recently identified. If you are trying to connect to electronic resources such as ejournals or ebooks, and are unable to get authenticated, you [may] need to do a Windows update."

"You will need to check your Windows update status and make sure you have downloaded and installed all of the latest security updates, especially those related to your browser. You are not required to upgrade to IE8 or the latest version of your preferred browser, but you may want to do that. However to access our resources you but must apply all security updates. Until these are installed you will not be able to authenticate." -- OhioLINK, December 8, 2009, at 06:10 PM

If you need assistance doing a Windows update, contact the library at 419-289-5402 or library@ashland.edu.

OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center and Databases

Some OhioLINK databases and the Electronic Journal Center are down on campus, while off campus the OhioLINK login is down altogether.  OhioLINK is working on the problem.

Most databases remain accessible from the AU Library web pages, but "Find It" links from them to the EJC return a message that the EJC is "probably too busy right now."

LexisNexis Printing Problem Resolved

LexisNexis reports that "the problem that prevented users from printing in LN Academic has been resolved. We apologize for the interruption of print capability at such a busy time."  If you have further problems, please let us know at library@ashland.edu or 419-289-5402.

LexisNexis Academic Printing Problem

"There is a problem affecting the printing formatting service across LexisNexis right now. The issue has been assigned a very high priority and I expect that it will be corrected within hours."--Alistair Morrison, LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions

Although both printing and downloading are affected, it appears that one can e-mail documents from LexisNexis and then open and print the e-mailed documents.
